Thomas Paul Goldfinch Red Ceiling Lamp

We have to admit that we personally never understood the purpose of keeping birds in cages but if you ever visit Hong Kong, you may even see proud bird owners taking them out for a morning walk. In the past year, we also keep seeing birds and birdcages incorporated in many new designs from lamps to textiles and jewellery, and people tend to fall madly in love with them.

How about this beautiful lighting from New York City-based designer Thomas Paul? This Goldfinch Red Ceiling Lamp features bold colours and pattern, great inspiration for a world of home decorators. The collection consists of several lampshade options with his signature patterns of floral and birds motifs with coloured bases for table, floor or pendant lamp styles. We can easily picture this in a white home office!

Suddenly, we are reminded of the Twitter logo and how the birds have clearly made its way into graphic design too! Speaking of which, are you following us on Twitter? Tweet.. tweet…! You may also have seen birds in accessories such as last year’s collection from Elk accessories.
