La Chance by M.O.S
East meets West. The original La Chance lucky charm bracelet by M.O.S is inspired by Chinese culture and the Zodiac’s twelve animals – this surely is a modern and westernised adaptation of the ancient Chinese tradition of wearing jewellery to benefit good fortune, luck, love and even health. Designed in Denmark, handmade at own factories in Northern China, using Swarovski crystals from Austria, or semi-precious gems and gold-plated metal, each bracelet is comes with the patented La Chance wheel.
La Chance bracelet has strategically jumped on the celebrity bandwagon internationally and in Australia with famous faces flaunting the gems on their wrists – from Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, U2′s Bono, Kate Hudson, Beyonce, Olivia Newton John and Danni Minogue to Marcia Hines and Jessica Mauboy. We believe they were all already climbing high on the ladder of success but suppose it won’t hurt carrying a positive reminder and lucky charm to keep going. Apparently, the legend of this original bracelet was born when the luck changed for Copenhagen soccer club Broendby, which was on a massive loosing streak of 25 games in a row. Once the head coach was given a La Chance bracelet and embraced the philosophy of positive thinking, the team’s luck immediately changed. Jockey Kathy O’Hara had her career best day shortly after starting to wear the Lucky bracelet including riding Chance Bye to qualify for the Golden Slipper. Go figure!
“All that we are is the result of what we have thought.”… Buddha.
The Fortune range is worn as a reminder to think positively with the inclusion of the logo ball inscribed with the symbol of the Zodiac and set with semi precious stones. Its younger brother, the Lucky Bead collection is made from 6mm semi precious stones and one logo bead available in a variety of colours and can be stacked on or worn with other bracelets. The love collection is made with the single red ruby pearl that symbolises love and nobility, brings wisdom, good health, experience and wealth. The green or black sandalwood Buddha Bead range emphasises the philosophy of positive thinking.
The label seems to continue take inspiration from the Orient and their next range will be based on Indian philosophy. Perhaps this Danish label will do a full circle around the globe and end up in own Nordic mythology and Viking revival later on?
