We have previously featured Intel The Museum of Me which recently won The FWA Site of 2011 Award. We are also excited to share the winner of the FWA People’s Choice Award – 3 Dreams of Black. Written and directed by Chris Milk, it’s a lucid dreamlike narrative for Danger Mouse and composer Daniele Luppi’s album ROME, using WebGL to weave film with 2D cell and 3D interactive animation while showcasing Chrome. A new ‘Productivity Future Vision’ video by Microsoft Office has been released and is causing a lot of debate with its utopia feel. We wonder; how near is this future, will everyone afford this, how user-friendly and necessary will it acutally be? We still have cars running on petrol in Australia, a dysfynctional transport system and poverty in the world – will it solve that as well? It is a pretty vision in terms of technology but there is something sterile about this video. It is missing a bit of soul, dirt and real people. Don’t get us wrong, we encourage innovation to improve everyday life and we will be continue watching (and use) Microsoft. Perhaps we are a bit harsh? Have a look and make your own opinion. (more…)
