Probably one of the most anticipated film of the year, Avatar was conceived more than a decade ago, but James Cameron’s script sat in a drawer waiting for technology to catch up with his revolutionary cinematic vision. In 2005, Cameron embarked on a journey to bring the world of Pandora and its inhabitants to life, with the aid of brand new CGI technologies. After four years in the making, Avatar marks James Cameron’s return to feature directing since Titanic, 1997 Oscars Best Picture.

Avatar, the most expensive film to make at $325 million dollars. The movie will break new ground in delivering a fully immersive, emotional story which promises to reinvent the 3D movie going experience. In the story, an ex-Marine (Aussie star Sam Worthington) finds himself thrust into hostilities on the alien planet Pandora, filled with exotic life forms. As an Avatar – a human mind in an alien body – he is torn between two worlds in a desperate fight for his own survival and that of its indigenous people, the Na’vi.
