Sydney Festival First Night 2010
We love summer in Sydney, the beaches, al fresco restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs, rooftop parties, outdoor music events and night markets bringing the city to life. In just two years, Festival First Night has also become a Sydney tradition. We attended its very first night in 2008 and loved it but missed out the 2009 event. So, we are excited to see what the third installment will bring this Saturday 9 January 2010. Festival First Night 2010 is turning the city landscape into a summer playground for people to look up, look around and look out for the unexpected…
With event and theatre director Nigel Jamieson as Creative Director of the night, this year’s event will have a theatrical air. And it won’t all be on the stages, but rather Festival First Night will be making use of the city buildings themselves, with performers appearing on balconies, swinging from trapeze, and floating in from the sky. We love how the city will be a canvas for creativity!

Sydney Festival First Night features a line-up of international artists from every corner of the globe with an opportunity to catch some of the biggest names in the Festival for free. We are embracing everything the event wish to represent – openness, accessibility, optimism, tolerance and style.
