When musical worlds collide true magic can happen. Hip hop and rock have shown some iconic match ups over the years with Run DMC & Aerosmith, and Jay-Z with Linkin Park showing that contrasting styles can often work well together. I was recently invited to shoot a recent Sydney meeting of hip hop and rock when Kid Mac put on his latest live show, and was joined on stage by special guest Sarah McLeod.

Kid Mac is a real star. He’s got a street look, and a unique sound that gets people jumping. After 18 months of recording where he worked with the likes of RZA he’s going to make some big noises in 2012. As special guests go, they don’t get much more special than Sarah McLeod who oozes rock ‘n’ roll, and sounds and looks great. In addition to duetting with Kid Mac she’s also the lead singer of Screaming Bikini and is the former front woman of The Superjesus.

The night was great, I hope you enjoy the shots as I tried to capture the energy and excitement of the night. I hope to be shooting more of the talented duo this year so don’t miss it!
