Earth Hour 2009, vote by turning your lights off
mecho team is happy to support Earth Hour 2009 which is happening later this month on Saturday 28 March, 8.30pm – 9.30pm. Turn off the lights and show your love for Mother Earth!
Some of Australia’s favourite icons will switching their lights off including Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney Opera House, Melbourne Federation Square, Big Banana, Big Pineapple and Big Merino. Also, international icons such as Paris Eiffel Tower, San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge and Toronto CN Tower.
Sydney designer Bowie Wong has designed a one-off black t-shirt to be auctioned to the event on March 28. Made using a labour-intensive hook-and-eye hand-stitching process.
Everyone can help make a difference to the future of the planet, get your office/company to register for Earth Hour. You can even support Earth Hour by shopping, get a survival kit or grab some power-saving eco gadgets.

Earth hour is a great idea to promote the environmental issues we face in the world today. Unfortunately, the cynic in me cant help but wonder if its advocates live green in their daily lives. Since this is a style guide I’d like to add that green just isnt my colour. Blue on the other hand… If only fish were more warmand cuddly. Maybe then, people would be more interested in the crisis our oceans are facing with pollution and overfishing to name a few. After all, our planet is an ecosystem with an overwhelimingly blue majority.

Why switch off you lights for an hour when you can turn them off for the whole night?!
I plan to have a nice night in the bath tub, light a few candles and good book! > Confessions of a shopaholic! oMG can’t wait for the movie
