Are you also finding it harder and harder to get up in the mornings? We have been working ourselves to the bones and smashed a few alarm clocks on the way. In our search for an alarm clock in stylish design, durable quality and not too advanced technology, we think we have found a label that might fit our needs. Well, we like to believe it will be easier to wake up in the morning with the beauty of a solid Furni alarm clock next to the bed!

Less is more, especially at the crack of day. We are not big fans of the alarm/iPod docks combination as discovering waking up to your favourite tunes actually makes one feel rather comfortable and linger dangerously longer in bed… Snoooze! Battery-driven clocks are also a pain as what if it stop to work that morning when you can’t afford missing that early flight or important meeting… Fail! Also, the ones made out of plastic are simply not that fantastic.

The Furni Gator alarm clocks are handmade in solid wood casing with walnut wood construction and rounded soft corners. Danish oiled to bring out woodgrain clearcoated with non toxic water based varathane old-school red LED clock with alarm functions and comes complete with wall transformer. We do wonder where the snooze button is but that is probably the point! Our favourite is the Walnut one that apparently only came in limited run of two units. Other options are Dark Mahogny, Light Beech and Salt & Pepper.

We are really happy that Devin Barrette and Mike Giles decied to cash in their unemployment cheques, tired of working for “the man” and started Furni about 6 years ago. The guys explore and create their own designs with the combination of Devin’s cabinet making skills and Mike’s interest in simple modern design. This Canadian duo is a true inspiration and hopefully bringing everyday happiness to many homes.
