Sony NEX-3 and NEX-5 interchangable lens digital cameras aims to combine the best of both worlds of photography, SLR quality photos with a compact body without the bulky size and weight.

Both the NEX5 and NEX3 features a 14 megapixel sensor, quick video record button and screw-on flash, browsing photos and videos are enjoyable on the vivid 3 inch tilting LCD screen. Taking panoramic photos in 3D also couldn’t be easier – this unique feature allows you to simply press the shutter button and sweep the camera across the scene. NEX5 has some improved features over the NEX3 such as stronger alloy magenius body, larger grip handle and full HD movie recording. NEX3 has a plastic body but available in more colours of red, silver, black or white.

mecho got hand-ons review of the Sony NEX-5 at the recent Sony Foundation Fashion4Ward charity launch at Blue Hotel Water Bar in Woolloomooloo Wharf, Sydney. We like the handbag-friendly size, video quality playback on the LCD and even in ‘dummy mode’ automatic, we were able to take some good low-light pictures – check the photos out.
