Pro Ject Audio Systems
Several years ago, Pro Ject Audio Systems started out with one turntable made out of well-engineered parts sourced and manufactured locally in the Czech Republic. This helped keep costs down without sacrificing build quality. Today, Pro Ject has fifteen different models in varying shapes and sound quality with distributors around the world.
The entry level turntable is considered by many to be the best entry level audiophile turntable on the market. Their more expensive turntables are often said to be on par with or better than turntables two and three times the cost of a Pro Ject. This may not be big news for people that prefer mp3s but for audiophiles on a budget or people looking to expand their stereo systems capabilities, these turntables are a great place to start.
Did I mention the Pro Ject Audio Systems are gorgeous too? The designs are fantastic and go from downright abstract to quite charming. The three turntables pictured are the RPM 9.1 in clear acrylic above and the Debut MkIII in black and the Xtension in wood grain below. Now, don’t forget the music!
