Following Nintendo’s Wii success, Playstation PS3 seems to also want a slice of the motion gaming action, revealing their new Playstation “Move” motion controller. It looks like a chunky magic wand with colour changing led sphere shaped as a ball on top of the black body – coincidentially Wii has just released a black motion controller too.

Combined with the Eye camera, it detects a player’s position in 3D location, projects player’s image and voice into the game. The curvy black Move motion controller has sensors built into the body whilst the ball colour can be changed to identify different players and provide gameplay feedback. For example, when taking damage in a first-person shooter, the ball might flash red.

We look forward to see fresh and innovative video game ideas later this year from both the PlayStation Move and Xbox Natal Project. We definately hope they won’t just rehash something similar to Nintendo Wii games with better graphics although some might say imitation is the best form of flattery.
