HP Slate Touchscreen Tablet
In the buzz of Apple’s iPad US-release during the weekend, Hewlett-Packard is quick to jump on the bandwagon with a video promoting their own upcoming touchscreen tablet – the HP Slate.
HP claims to offer consumers a “full mobile experience”, powered with Intel Atom processor and Windows 7 operating system. Browse the web, play games, view ebooks, videos and photos just like on the Apple iPad with the addition of some extra smart features such as web camera, SD card slot, USB port and supports Adobe Flash. The 5 hour battery life however is weaker than iPad’s 10 hours. Expected to be available in stores by June in two sizes: 32GB for US$550 and 64GB for US$600. HP Slate looks promising and we hope to keep you posted with more innovative tablets as they come out. Let the war begin!

While I love Apple products, this looks like it will blow the iPad out of the water in terms of specs and usability! The camera, SD slot and Flash support will all make this really easy to use for browsing the net, Skyping family back home and so on! I would definately use this for browsing websites at home, when I don’t really need to type too much.
