The mini notebook is nowadays also referred to as netbook. Light-weight and designed to keep you socially connected with your friends, surf the internet, check your emails, Facebook, Twitter, Messenger, uploads photos, video streaming and more.

Built-in Wi-fi allows you to connect to wireless Internet at the airport, cafe or even in your own lounge room. Wish we had one of these netbooks when we were stuck in transit on our last trip! Dell has two models on offer;

The Dell Inspiron Mini 9 weighs 1.04 kg and features glossy 8.9 inch LED display and 16GB sold state hard drive (SSD). The sleek and slim brother Dell Inspiron Mini 12 boasts a 12 inch LED display, 80GB of storage space, larger keyboard but it’s slightly heavy at 1.25 kg. Both netbooks come with Windows XP Home, wifi, Bluetooth, media card reader and built in web cam.

The short battery life of about 3 hours and lack of a CD/DVD drive might put off movie buffs. A splash of colour would make it more appealing, only available in black colour at the moment.
