iPad, Apple Touchscreen Tablet
Apple’s worst kept secret, iPad touchscreen tablet was finally announced today by Apple Chief Executive Officer Steve Jobs. Looking similar to an oversized iPod Touch/iPhone, the stylish new iPad touchscreen tablet computer is only half-inch thick and weighs 680 grams. Featuring a beautiful 9.7-inch multi-touch screen with LED backlight, it is powered by a 1GHz CPU and comes with 16, 32 or 64GB flash storage. With wireless connectivity of built-in WiFi and Bluetooth, it has an expected battery life up to 10 hours.
You can check emails, calendar and surf the internet with ease via the touch keyboard – watch and enjoy media such as music, photos, videos and games. Workaholics have the option to buy the iWork productivity applications which includes presentations, word processing documents and spreadsheets.
iPad will run most of the existing 140,000 apps. The major new app is iBooks which allow users to browse, read reviews and sample ebooks from different publishers. When you’re ready to buy and downloads to your virtual book shelf, tap on the book and it pops right up on the screen, then tap to adjust font and size. New York Times will be the first newspaper to support the iPad.
However, some iPad misses; there is no camera for video chat, removable battery, multi-tasking ability or Adobe flash and HDMI support. Yet, we expect an uptake of the advanced technology within our style predictions for 2010.
Steve Jobs claims “It’s the best browsing experience you’ve ever had holding the Internet in your hands. It’s an incredible experience.” The iPad will be available in Australia on May 28 with the 16GB base model priced at $629, for living down under we pay approx 11% more compared to the US consumers.

The international launch of the iPad is now said to be postponed until late-May 2010 due to the surprisingly strong US demand. Looks like Australia has to wait as usual…
