If you are sharing household with flatmates or room mates, you can stop arguing about science projects growing in the fridge or unwanted nibbling of your food. A smart solution is on the horizon!

Flatshare Refrigerator is a modular fridge with individual compartments for each flatmate. The fridge has a base station and up to four stackable modules. The modules allow each individual to have his or her own space which can be customised with various colourful skins as well as add-ons such as bottle opener and handles for easy carry when moving on.

We would suggest some sort of electronic lock using fingerprints or digits to be included for extra security against hungry room mates munching on your last Tim Tam, left over pad thai or beer! Stefan Buchberger, design student from the University of Applied Arts, Vienna, Austria won Electrolux Design Lab 2008 with his smart concept.
