Ping Pong Door
I have fond childhood memories of how my brother and Dad used to turn our wooden kitchen table into a ping pong table and have some grand slams at our home. I used to give it a go but wasn’t very good… Now, I wonder why nobody thought of this fun and space saving design concept of a Ping Pong Door before?
Push the centre of the door down and you have suddenly transformed it into a ping pong table! The only requirements are the adjacent rooms to have enough room for you to play in. Personally, it would probably be quite challenging for me to get the ball through the doorway without bouncing the ceiling or walls, probably very good practise for precision in the swings. Also note, one side of the door looks normal while the other one side will be available in various and colours.
Designed by German designer Tobias Fränzel, there is no word yet of when this concept will go into production but it is currently showcasing at various design conventions in Europe. Tobias has promised to keep me posted from Berlin.
