Digital Graffiti at 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics Village
No, this post is not about the coolest snowboard gear or the most dramatic figure skating outfits during the 2010 Winter Olympics. This is a video post I thought was worth sharing of Chairman Ting’s digital graffiti art performances at the Salt Building inside the Athlete’s Village. Check it out if you enjoy digital art!
Chairman Ting Industries is a small experimental illustration workshop based in Vancouver, founded by Carson Ting and Denise Cheung. The Digital Graffiti at the Olympics village was in collaboration with U.S. Short Track Speed Skaters, Travis Jayner and Jordan Malone for a few digital graffiti sessions. Commissioned by The Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) using Tangible Interaction’s unique digital graffiti wall technology, made with Open Frameworks.
These guys create full-on sensory experiences people can interact with in the everyday physical world as well as virtual – it is entertaining, fun and beautiful to watch them use this medium. Well done, dudes and dudettes!
