For those of you who are not familiar with Cut&Paste, it’s time to get excited about the global design initiative that is said to rock your socks off!

mecho is supporting Cut&Paste, a global design competition for the most creative minds in design across the world. The competition was launched in Sydney in 2007 when over 1,000 people packed into the Metro Theatre to watch the live creative design process. This years’ Cut&Paste in partnership with Autodesk and Wacom is going to be even better with designers battling to given themes and time limits live on stage. Their work will be webcast globally and projected in real-time for the live Cut&Paste audience.

This years’ event features a hat trick of 2D, 3D, and Motion Design competitions in sixteen cities worldwide, across North America, Europe and Asia Pacific: Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, Portland, San Francisco, Toronto, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, London, Milan, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo and Sydney! The 2009 tour takes Cut&Paste over, across, and around the world in just over a hundred days, then flying back to New York for the grand finale, the debut of an international showdown between champions.

Cut&Paste Sydney is returning again to town after its 2007 debut with live DJ’s, booze and a manic design battle at the Metro Theatre on Saturday, 6 June 2009. 7pm-Midnight. Tickets $13 online or $15 at the door.
