Creative Sydney Vivid Festival 2010: A Foreign Light Becomes Freedom in Flight at the MCA
You are invited to a live audio visual collaboration – this unique project sees Creative Director and performer Flutter Lyon [Robyn Wilson] collaborate with award-winning filmmaker Husein Alicajic, prodigious art rock band Parades, improvising post-classical musicians The NOISE and the digital interactivity of new media artist Harriet Birks, on one very special night. The band will be costumed by Sydney designer Alvin Manalo of Saint Augustine Academy.
Taking place in Sydney on Friday 11 June 8:30-10pm at the Museum of Contemporary Art, this free event sounds like a beautiful creative space, exploring the notions of foreign versus familiar across multiple creative disciplines.
Register your interest online Creative Sydney website to attend this free event. Celebrate the release of Parades critically lauded debut album Foreign Tapes, and view the film made by Husein Alicajic especially for the evening, featuring Ryan Flanagan and Flutter Lyon’s high-contrast, mesmerising experimental footage, to be projected large scale throughout the live performances by the musicians, with real-time audio interactive effects and live mixing by Birks.
“One show. One night. One moment of stunning collaborative collision.”
