Ford Fiesta ECOnetic, green and stylish to boot
With environmental issues being hot topics for the past decades, it is surprising that the development and up-take of environmentally friendly green hybrid cars haven’t gone very far. Being green is said to be in vogue in 2009 when it should be a mandatory requirement by now and unfortunately many eco-friendly cars still look exciting as a refrigerator on wheels.
Ford hopes to tackle these issues with the Ford Fiesta ECOnetic. One of most fuel efficient small car in the range and exterior looks of a stylish city hatchback. This little green machine emits only C02 emissions of 98g/km.
The aerodynamic body, lowered suspension and low resistant tyres aims to achieve its green credentials as well as the ECOnetic 1.6 TDCi diesel engine produces 66kw of power and frugal fuel consumption of just 3.7L/100km. The Ford Fiesta ECOnetic also clever features such as a green shift indicator light which signals the driver when to change gear to improve fuel economy. Available in Europe already, we expect to see the five-seater Ford Fiesta ECOnetic released later this year in Australia.
