Alma, a CGI short film by Rodrigo Blaas
I ♥ CGI (i.e. computer-generated imagery). If you know me, you are probably already nodding your head miserably at the thought of one of my many animated (pun intended) speeches I’ve made in the genre’s favour. You might even be forgiven for thinking I had a stake in Pixar – oh, how I wish that actually was true! So, with that in mind, Alma has to be one of the best animations I’ve seen recently.
Alma is a CGI short film by Rodrigo Blaas – it’s cute, beautiful, incredibly detailed, dark, spine-chilling and exhilarating all at the same time. If I were an old-fashioned film critique being quoted on a film poster about now, I would probably look like this. Enjoy but definitely don’t show the kids unless you are trying to put them off toys for good. “A Triumph!” NewSugar
