2009 Bicycle Film Festival Sydney & Melbourne
The Bicycle Film Festival 2009 is rolling into Sydney (11-15 Nov) and Melbourne (26-29 Nov). In 2001, Brendt Barbur, Founder and Director, was compelled to start the Bicycle Film Festival after being hit by a bus while riding his bike in New York City. Instead of being deterred by this experience, it inspired him to create a festival that celebrates the bicycle through music, art, and film. Now, in its ninth year the festival is held in 39 cities worldwide.
In Australia, Crumpler has been major sponsor since its inaugural year here in 2007. The lovely ladies at the Melbourne and Sydney custom bag stores, have been busy making custom Crumpler/ BFF bags as prizes for the number of satellite events of the BFF.
In Sydney, Crumpler has collaborated with four street/stencil artists to produce four custom made bags, keeping Bike as the theme. These bags will be part of the Sydney BFF art expo, which is taking place on Thursday, Nov 12th at Monster Children Gallery, Darlinghurst. One of the bags will be the prize for the winner of the Boutique Cycles online beautiful bike competition. The remaining three bags, will be part of a silent auction to take place at the art expo at Monster Children.

So, if you are about in Syndey and Melbourne, jump on your bike and head along to check out the films, parties and events of The Bicycle Film Festival 2009, all celebrating the humble two-wheeled steed.
