Hungary for Eyewear – Tipton Budapest

Robocop, Karate Kid and Batman are just a few of the 35mm film reels that Zachary Tipton has chopped up to feature in his handmade eyewear range titled Cinamatique. Every frame has a carefully selected series of film inserted into the stainless steel temples ensuring that every frame is completely unique.

The film reels have been collected since the fall of communism in Hungary back in 1989 and more recently, Tipton has even inserted film from 1980s skiing movies (featuring Glen Ellen in Vermont). You can even request film inserts from some 1950s erotic stag movies that were purchased at a flee market in Budapest.

The frames are available for optical or prescription glasses and just like everything else in Hungary, Tipton from Budapest are of exceptionally good value.
