Happy 60th anniversary to Onitsuka Tiger sneakers! We love how the Zodiac Race has been chosen as the special theme for the celebrations and can’t wait to see the Onitsuka Tiger Spring/Summer 2009 Zodiac Collection being rolled out this year. To contain everyone’s excitement, let’s have a sneak peek on photos of the sneakers where each shoe is inspired by an animal from the Zodiac calendar. Every pair of sneakers has unique design with special printing techniques created by talented illustrator Erik Kriek and fashion designer Takeshi Fukui.

The cute animated video presents the ancient Zodiac legend of the animals racing against each other to secure a spot in the Zodiac Calendar. It also reflects the five elements of wood, fire, earth, metal and water with a hand-built diorama shaped like an Onitsuka Tiger sneaker featuring several Japanese landmarks from Mount Fuji through sand dunes and volcanic areas to the bright lights of Tokyo.
