Lacoste footwear x Zaha Hadid Architects collaboration
In July, Lacoste will release a limited-edition shoes in their new collaboration with London-based Zaha Hadid Architects. Only 850 pairs will be available and it will be interesting to see who will be game to invest in these futuristic numbers.
The concept is based on a digitisation of Lacoste’s famous croc logo combined with Hadid’s signature style, now in shapes of ankle boots for men and calf boots for women. Hadid says; “The design expression behind the collaboration with Lacoste footwear allows the evolution of dynamic fluid grids. When wrapped around the shape of a foot, these expand and contract to negotiate and adapt to the body ergonomically. In doing so a landscape emerges, undulating and radiating as it merges seamlessly with the body.” Looks comfy!
Architect Zaha Hadid consistently pushes the boundaries of architecture and urban design. Her work usually experiments with spatial quality, extending and intensifying existing landscapes in the pursuit of a visionary aesthetic that encompasses all fields of design, ranging from urban scale through to products, interiors and furniture. She has in recent times designed in collaboration with other big fashion labels such as Chanel’s Mobile Art Exhibit.
