Eduardo Rivera, new menswear designer from Spain
Up and coming menswear designer Eduardo Rivera from Spain, was recently selected to showcase at the prestigious Tranoï men’s show during Paris Fashion Week. The Tranoï host 100 collections of ‘avant-garde man’ and Eduardo is definitely a next designer to watch. Yeah, we are excited to give you all a little sneak peek.
With only two collections on his back, fashion designer Eduardo Rivera collections have been praised in Spain but received little international exposure to date. He is a fresh designer from Madrid who brings a tailor’s hand to the design and production process, resulting in excellent quality and fit. The designer updates classics with colourful details and sharp, modern cuts with a focus on comfort and versatility for the style-conscious and busy man. His last collection has been a success and continues to sell well in fashion boutiques across Spain in spite of the economic crisis.
Eduardo Rivera grew up helping his mother’s fashion store, Elisa de Rivera, a Madrid fashion institution but actually began a career in the finance market and it wasn’t until 2002 that he returned to Spain to work with his mother. Together, they launched the ladies brand Ene de Rivera, now for sale in over 15 countries, with permanent showrooms in Madrid, London and Moscow. His beginning in Finance is evident in Eduardo’s commercial focus on delivering tailor quality clothing in fashionable and wearable designs.
What really inspired Eduardo to return to his fashion roots, however, was his ambition to create a men’s brand to fill what he passionately believed was a serious gap in the market – a young, tailored, comfortable and elegant brand. From learning the art of tailoring at Central St Martin’s in London to working with his mother on the Ene de Rivera collection, he has refined his skill and eye as a tailor.
Watch the video from behind the scenes of the fashion shoot for Eduardo Rivera’s Autumn Winter 2010 collection, “Artists Have More Fun”. Sharp tailoring, modern cut trousers and comfortable fabrics. Directed and produced by Gonzalo Cabrera. Oooh, we love the song choice too by The Ting Tings.
