Costo Finnish headwear
While Swedishness seems to be the new black in the world of fashion, it is important to know that other Scandinavian destinations such as Finland are delivering great designs too.
Costo.fi is a headwear company based in Helsinki that used Papua New Guinea tribesmen to model their hats while on a research trip in 2007. The guys from Costo have also taken their distinctive headwear on other material reconnaissance missions to Indonesia, Malaysia and Mozambique.
It is great when a design is distinctive, when you see a design and immediately you know exactly who made it, think Ray Ban Wayfarers. Costo headwear is distinctive, once you know about their hats you will recognise their designs straight up. The deep fit; the mini brim; the detachable pom-pom; the limited edition recycled materials; the handmade quality; it all combines to make the top half of your head rival any hat owned by JK from Jamiroquai.
Costo’s new range for Spring also includes bags and wallets that follow Costos design principles is out now. Hats start from 59 Euros or about $100AUD.
