In tribute to silver screen beauty Audrey Hepburn 80th anniversary, a bunch of Audrey look-alike were seen strutting around CBD in the lead up to the Jayson Brunsdon’s Gala Opening of Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival 2009. Brunsdon has clearly been inspired by the beautiful and classic style icon with flowing designs in a range of nude colour palettes sailing down the catwalk. From knee-length halter neck dresses, jumpsuits to shorts and jackets in feminine sequins.

Gorgeous Olympic swimmer Stephanie Rice was definitely the highlight on the red carpet in a pretty Jayson Brunsdon dress. With the black marquee on Sydney’s Martin Place filled with visitors, we believe the event organiser had no problem raising funds from the opening gala to be donated to UNICEF Australia to support children orphaned by AIDS.

The Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival is aimed at the public with event tickets for sale unlike the exclusive industry event of Australian Fashion Week featured earlier this year. Everyone also hopes this accessibility will help stimulating the economy with associated in-store events, parties and pamper sessions.

With the temperature rising in Sydney lately, we are looking forward to see what is installed for the Summer season with the Seafolly show tomorrow plus the Summer Holiday show on Wednesday including hot labels such as Flamingo Sands and JETS by Jessika Allen. Jennifer Hawkins will be at the Myer Bondi Junction tomorrow and other of our personal must-sees this week include Aurelio Costarella, Romance Was Born and Ginger & Smart included in separate review sessions over the week.

Other designers to show at the festival also include Australian leading designers such as Wayne Cooper, Kirrily Johnston, Lisa Ho and Nicola Finetti just to mention a few. Don’t forget all the launch parties, after-parties, luncheons, conversation series, in-store promotions and other goodies across trendy parts of town.
