MAC Cosmetics has created a commotion with their limited editions of Hello Kitty gone wild! Think cosmetics, accessories and fashion associated with a very bad black kitty rolling around in a fountain of colours, glitter and magic dust. The collections include products for eyes, face, lips and nails as well as beaded charm bracelets, graphic totes, makeup bags, mirrored key clips… and of course, Hello Kitty plush toys.

You can also bid on eBay for one-of-a-kind Hello Kitty designer dresses, designed exclusively for MAC by a host of international designers including Australian designers such as Zac Posen and Zimmermann plus Kate Sylvester from New Zealand. All proceeds benefit the Acquisition fund for the Museum at The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City.

The pink strapless formal dress by designer Shu-Chi Huang stands out the most within the auction and currently fetching the highest bids over US$1,000. The couture dress is an artwork with layers of different texture to present the perfect style of flower using gauze, chiffon, silk, ribbon and Swarovski Crystals to sew on every inch of the layers.

Huang describes her inspiration “Hello Kitty is the symbol of dreams, cuteness and romance. Every girl wants to be her. This dress was designed for presenting Hello Kitty’s dream….” We guess the classic and innocent Hello Kitty still stands with her head high then?
