L’oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival 2010 has kicked off and we extend our congratulations to Dion Lee for winning the prestigious LMFF Young Designer Award. Dion Lee will be receiving $10,000 plus a trip to either Florence or Paris to meet an extensive network of international contacts including mills and fabric suppliers. He will also represent Australia in a global Woolmark design competition including talented designers from New York, Paris, Milan, Shanghai and Tokyo. Catwalks around the world better make preparations to welcome this Australian designer to watch.

We have previously watched Dion Lee debut at Sydney’s Rosemount Fashion Festival with his signature industrial style, created by exquisite tailoring and detailing. Happy but not suprised, we did expect to hear positive buzz around this young man during this year’s LMFF and we can’t wait to see him during RAFW in May.
