Today’s lesson embodies all that is beautiful and divine in this world. We enter the world of the ever so wonderful and beautifully talented Lamija Suljevic and take a look at her latest Autumn Winter Fashion Collection 2010.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Suljevic’s work, it’s time to do our research. Fleeing from the war torn country of Bosnia with her family to Sweden at the young age of 5, Miss Suljevic has risen above her past and attained a successful career as a fashion designer.

After becoming a Fashion graduate of design, her interests turned to tailoring, and have completed a course in pattern design and dress making at the local Cutting Academy. No wonder Suljevic’s designs are beyond the point of brilliant. Her designs blend between the realm of fashion and art. Influenced by the romantic Parisian culture, her designs are delicate and beautiful, with strong silhouettes and detailed embroidery that has a clear avant garde influence. Currently studying a course in digital sketching, she launches her latest Autumn/Winter Collection for 2010.

This collection is everything Lamija Suljevic represents in her designs. Taking inspiration from her past, she fuses her childhood memories and Parisian culture with the elegant, the divine, the exquisite and the brutal. Aesthetically beautiful, the collection boasts strong silhouettes, definitive lines, minute waist lines and high bust lines, successfully capturing the beauty of Parisian romance. Her articulate use of embroidery and crochet is indicative of her talent, using only the perfect materials for her designs. This collection is a clear fusion between the old Parisian culture and the ground breaking period of the Avant Garde, the collection is neither one nor the other but a perfect synthesis of the two.
