RSFF: Summer Holiday Swimwear runway

Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival 2009 took us on a Summer Holiday with Jets by Jessika Allen firing up the show. Jets swimwear surely made the temperature rise among the audience even more by unveiling their debut of menswear within their range. The ripped guys strutting in for a first look sent the crowd wild and we must say that we were happy to see some men on the catwalk too. The festival is predominately focusing on women’s fashion and although we are sure the males in the audience have not complained about all women in killer heels this week, it is good to see that men style needs are being catered too.

Other Australian designers heating up the runway included Camilla, Flamingo Sands, Kooey, White Sands and our new favourite, Lenny swimwear. Hot tip is the one-piece swimsuits that is making its come-back. We also took note of Camilla kaftans with all the trimmings of sequins, gems, glitter and glam as well as Flamingo Sands bold patterns, colours, fringe detailing and everyone seems to be really into ruffles right now… The ruffles were swaying and bouncing so lovely on the catwalk but we can’t help to wonder how these look like when wet? Oh well, hopefully the material dries quickly in the hot Summer sun!
