The good old thongs are a true blue Aussie icon. For anyone outside Australia, you probably know them as flip flops as we are not talking about underwear g-strings. Since their launch in Australia over ten years ago, the Havaianas thong has become a popular fashion brand and essential style accessory for summer time.

On Australia Day January 26th, Havaianas Thong Challenge is taking place on five famous Aussie beaches for what they call the ultimate fun in the sun with inflatable Havaianas thongs to cruise around the water. The beach event aims to break the previous world record from Coogee Beach in 2006 of ‘longest line of inflatable air beds in water’ and help raise funds for Starlight Children’s Foundation and the Surf Lifesaving Clubs.
