Meadowlark jewellery from New Zealand
New Zealand is breeding many top-notch designers such as the creators behind Meadowlark – a collection of covetable and precious jewellery in silver and gold – sometimes playful, sometimes dark with a beautiful edge.
The design and production journey for Meadowlark began in 2006 when Claire Hammon and Greg Fromont combined their skills and creative verve to launch the jewellery line they always dreamt of. The business partners, now husband and wife, have never looked back.
Claire is a self-educated, uninhibited designer who also runs a graphic design studio and in her late teens and early twenties, she created a streetwear label into the solid brand Urchin which was sold in 2004. Greg is a visual artist who turned his hand to mastering the craft of jewellery design and construction. Capturing bold motifs and graphic imagery in gold, silver and precious stones is a Meadowlark signature. New ranges are developed each season, and they hope each Meadowlark piece will always transcend fashion as a modern classic and become intensely personal.
“We believe jewellery is personal, and can become so entwined with a person that it is one of the most devastating possessions you can lose.”
