One of Hollywood’s hottest designer, LA-based CC Skye embraces the true “IT” Girl style, consistently ahead of the trends if not setting them. She fuses uptown elegance with edgy glam rock in her jewellery and handbags.

In the glitz and glam, it is a bit surreal to hear that CC Skye actually first began designing clothing and jewellery in the back streets and bustling bazaars of Kathmandu, Nepal while on a six-month study abroad. She traded her hiking boots to make dresses with the local seamstresses and used her hands for anything for the first time. She says getting out of the consumerist mentality of the West helped her slow down and make something rather than just go out and buy it. After Nepal, she returned to LA working in fashion trends forecasting, styling, television and eventually started working with a local craftsman in Downtown LA who taught her the trade. One Summer later, her own range was born and the CC Skye Jewellery line had a break out success in 2006. Today, CC Skye is available in over 800 stores worldwide including Australia.

It is hard to pick out a fav from the wide range of jewellery but one of the must-have statement pieces for all fashionistas to flaunt against their bare skin must be the CC Skye Wide Mesh Bracelet. This wide mesh bracelet has beautiful interwoven braid detail with rich Italian leather and magnetic closure. Available in Gold, Sterling Silver or Oxidised Gold. Hardly the simple life.
