Artist David Choe, 35, reportedly thought Facebook was “ridiculous and pointless”, but nonetheless accepted a few thousand in shares as payment when he was commissioned to decorate the walls of Facebook’s headquarters seven years ago. He is now set for $US200m in light of the social network makes its initial public offering (IPO). This dude probably doesn’t need more publicity but he is quite talented with a rocky history. On Saturday 4 Feb 2012 at 11am-3pm, Bikes for Humanity will be receiving bikes for Africa at the Lend Lease, Barangaroo South site in the Sydney CBD (on Hickson st, Millers Point). They have partnered with Lend Lease who provided storage containers, volunteers to assist packing, a great mural and more. Sydney-siders, if you have a mountain bike you don’t use, drop it off and keep an eye out for the colourful Bikes for Humanity Sydney mural. (more…)

When musical worlds collide true magic can happen. Hip hop and rock have shown some iconic match ups over the years with Run DMC & Aerosmith, and Jay-Z with Linkin Park showing that contrasting styles can often work well together.
