Hair care brand Privé by US celebrity stylist Laurent Dufourg, is launching in Australia. The French native, started his career at the age of 16 by serving an apprenticeship with the world famous Claude Maxime in Paris.

He is a powerhouse in the beauty industry with an empire that includes Privé Salons (New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Orlando and Malibu), ONA day spa (Los Angeles) plus Prive Professional Products and the new eco-friendly line, Concept Vert.

During the Milan Salone 2010, Industrial Facility was commissioned to contribute to a project at Wallpaper Handmade groundbreaking exhibition. For 2011, we really hope manufacturers will start to consider design and craftmanship where design meets functionality. Being a product that is extensively used as part of daily life for many people, we agree that the hair dryer could do with a makeover. VS Sassoon has recently launched MiniPRO versions of their Goddess Ionic Steam Straightener and hair stylerYou Curl, i.e. handbag-sized versions of their iconic hair styling products.

We tested these mini-versions out and while they include same features as the predecessor, the results are not always quite as consistent. Having said that, the miniPro’s are inexpensive essentials for those on-the-go, lightweight to bring on travels, for the weekend getaway or that special occasion where you have to look perfect. The fashion world was dealt a crippling blow on 11 February 2010, when designer Alexander McQueen was found dead in his London home.
