Between 7 August 2010 until the 14 November 2010, The Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) in Brisbane is hosting the world’s one and only Valentino Retrospective – an exhibition exploring the works of acclaimed Italian fashion house Valentino.

I can’t even begin to describe the decadence and absolute beauty of the 100 exquisite haute couture gowns on display for the Brisbane art scene and all its fashion junkies. As you know, Daffodil Day was this Friday and some of the countries top designers offered a hand – or should I say garment – to raise money to fight cancer.

The star-studded list of designers looks like it was stolen from Vogue’s address book. With Akira Isogawa, Arthur Galan, Camilla Franks, Bettina Liano, Rachel Gilbert, Jason Grech, and Jayson Brunsdon each donating a beautiful yellow garment for the event. Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival 2010 (RSFF) has arrived to town. In its third year, the festival has moved its venue from the big black tent on Martin Place to create a “Festival Hub” at the lower level of the newly renovated Sydney Town Hall. The modern outfit in the old building surely takes the experience to a new level.

Brought to you by the same professional team of experts responsible for the world-renowned industry event, Rosemount Australian Fashion Week (RAFW), RSFF provides consumers a week-long schedule of free and ticketed events. Last night saw the opening gala with a retrospective show celebrating 15 years of Australian fashion with designs from Jayson Brunsdon, Alex Perry, Collette Dinnigan, Lisa Ho and Wayne Cooper. Mercedez-Benz Stockholm Fashion Week Spring Summer 2011 took place the past week and since its inception in 2005, the catwalk has grown its slate to support nearly forty Scandinavian design houses twice annually.
