Adam Browne and Kristen Perich from Six Wolves recently joined mecho Contributors Network. Name: Six Wolves Nick name: the wolves
Profession: Casting director and producer
Location: Chippendale, Sydney
Passion: Unique and interesting faces and places… and of course our amazing friends!
We get our inspirations from:
Life, we tend to experience a lot this world has to offer – always trying to experience new things, meeting weird and wonderful people, and absorbing everything around us.
How we got our break: By taking the road less travelled…
Our top tricks of the trade:
Never judge a book by its cover – you never know how someone can help you.
Our style in a sentence: Got any blacker?

Bet you didn’t know we can: Become one with the dance floor!
Our latest project is about:
There are several (as always) projects we are working on – street casting big advertising campaigns, producing campaigns, producing and casting fashion shoots, coming up with concepts for winter fashion campaigns, scouting models… and the list goes on. There never seems to be a spare moment in the Six Wolves studio.
Photos from Six Wolves portfolio
Our last purchase: The Richo GX100 – our best friend in castings!
Current favourite mecho item:
The Tipton Budapest Eyewear range is amazing! Need to get our hands on a pair of those.

Travel destination and tips:
We have travelled to so many places around the world – mainly third world countries as they inspire us the most. We went to Cambodia 2 years ago and fell in love with the country – quite a dark place to visit but at the same time some of the happiest people on earth. We also went to Croatia last year spending time on a little island, Korcula off the coast of Split – can’t beat hitching to the beach and spending all day drinking coffee and sun baking on the jetty!

Although we did just come back from a few days on an eco-friendly private island, Ratua in Vanuatu scouting a shoot location – absolute luxury! Life’s not bad when you’re on “Vanuatu time”.

Pssstt…..One time…
… don’t order the mushroom pizza in Cambodia… otherwise you wake up 5 days later in Vietnam!

Hi Adam and Kristen,
Is it easier or harder working with real people versus real models? What’s you favourite project so far?

haha thats the first quesiton most people ask us – how did we come with the name? Honestly we went through a few and in the end wanted something that didn’t give away what we did – created intrigue, which I think it does. Who knows maybe there will be 6 of us!!

We always scout new models specifically to match certain briefs but we do have people on the books too that we put forward…. I was working on a big wrangler campaign and worked with a casting director in NY that worked with street casting a lot – its never really been done in Sydney so thought it would do well – especially with the recession!

Hey matt – It’s harder on set working with real people as they don’t have the same experience as a professional model – takes a little longer but in saying that you can capture some amazing moments with real people that are a lot harder to capture with pro models.

Hi there,
Envy how you guys have a hot summer in Jan! Here in London the weather is absolutely pants right now!! I do wonder how the fashion world operates over there? Are you seasons behind or setting your own trends? Australia hasnt been much on my radar but Id love visiting Sydney!!
Have a nice day,

Hi guys,
You seem to have some big heavyweight clients. Awesome seeing some ‘real people’ in advertising.
How long have you been operating and what would be your ultimate project?
Well done!
Josh

Hey Isabelle – we always operate a season in advance so during summer we shoot winter and during winter we shoot summer. Trends in Australia take inspiration from Europe a lot of the time… the australian style in general is easy to wear and relaxed… Melbourne tends to have a lot of individual style its amazing!

Hey Josh – our agency has been open for around 9 months now. But we have been doing this for many years! We would love to street cast some high fashion campaigns – be involved with finding some truely unique individuals for brands such as D&G, Gucci etc…. really push the boundries.

Hi MJ – its a hard industry to crack to be honest, its a lot about having the contacts, having an eye and working very very hard! You do work some very long hours but you get to work with some amazing people…. and yes a few little cat fights and free champaign is always lurking around somewhere…
